  • x58-UD7 v2 triple SLI with GTX Titans problem

I have 3 Titans (6GB) that I use at work on a workstation. Would it be possible to put all three of them in my Gigabyte x58-UD7 MB? I will be working on an after effects project at home for a few days. I can get two to work but not three. Also I have misplaced the original SLI strap from Gigabyte would it be alright to use an SLI strap from another MB manufacturer?

    Thanks

Re: x58-UD7 v2 triple SLI with GTX Titans problem

I think it's a bios issue... this is from the manual

      1-7
      Setting up ATI CrossFireX ™
      /NVIDIA SLI Configuration
      A. System Requirements
      - The 2-Way CrossFireX/SLItechnology currently supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 operating systems
      - The 3-Way CrossFireX/SLI technology currectly supports Windows Vista and Windows 7 operating systems only
      - A CrossFireX/SLI-supported motherboard with two/three PCI Express x16 slots and correct driver
      - Two/three CrossFireX/SLI-ready graphics cards of identical brand and chip and correct driver
(Current ATI GPUs that support 3-Way CrossFireX technology include the Radeon HD 3800 series, Radeon HD
4800 and Radeon HD 58XX series. Current NVIDIA GPUs that support 3-Way SLI technology include the 8800 GTX,
      8800 Ultra, 9800 GTX, GTX 260 and GTX 280.)

      - One/two CrossFireX (Note) /SLI bridge connectors
      - A power supply with sufficient power is recommended (Refer to the manual of your graphics cards for the power requirement)

I know many newer MB's than the X58 series choked when these new GPU's got on the market... I never expected a titan to work on an X58, and you got at least two to work. good on you. I think you'd need a modified bios to get the 3rd to work.
