  • New AMD FX 8370, 8370E, 8320E: Motherboard support

    Hi!
    I have a ASRock 870 Extreme3 R2.0.
Without changing motherboard, I would like to change my actual processor (Phenom II X6 1100t) with the new FX 8370E, that has good performance with a lower TDP (95W), compared to older FX.
My motherboard already support older AM3+ FX processors (excluding FX 9000 series).
Since these new processors have the same architecture of the order FX (Piledrive), will be released a bios update to support them?

it is likely that the cpu is recognized without bios updates but is not guaranteed stability.
I think need a microcode update

I understand....but, if I buy the processor and it has stability problems, it won't be a good deal and I'll waste my money.
Thus, it's better to wait a while, and hope that ASROCK will release a BIOS update for my little mobo
