i7-970 OC on ASrock Extreme6 X58

Greetings, I have had a i7-950 on my X58 Extreme6 board, and overclocking results have been poor...

Just bought a i7-970 (new) on the cheap as I needed 6 cores for Video Editing, and couldn't afford a 3770k or 3930x plus board etc.

Question is, has anyone got settings for stable OC on i7-970/Extreme6 board combination... would be happy with 4.0 to 4.2+ running on air (Noctua N14)

should be fairly similar in your 920 oc settings,what cpu and cpu vtt are you using?

20x180 with Stock/auto voltages all round, tried all sorts of different voltages step by step with my i7-950 and have never got beyond 3.6Ghz... useless.

So I am really keen to see if anyone on the forum has actually got an OC over 4.0GHZ with an i7-970

lsdmeasap has but he hasnt been on for a while,maybe try around 1.32v qpi/vtt youll need less on the hex cores,and try 200x21,set dram according to ram and everything else should be ok on auto maybe try around the 1.3v mark for cpu voltages
