Hi guys, I run the following setup
Gigabyte X79-UD3 (f20 bios)
Intel Core i7 3930K
2x Asus GTX 680 (flashed with the uefi compatible vbios) in SLI
Intel 520 Series 120GB SSD
Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200RPM SATA3 HDD
Western Digital 3 TB
USB mouse/keyboard (logitech)
with windows 8.1 OS, fully updated.
I updated to the f20 bios last week, and have been trying to activate the "fast boot"/"ultra fast boot" options. However, whenever I do a cold boot, it boots straight into the bios (without any error message), rather than loading windows directly. As soon as I exit the bios (either by exiting or save/exit), windows boots normally.
If I reboot the computer, it will load windows without going through the bios, however it is significantly slower than with the fast boot/ultra fast boot options disabled.
Secure boot is enabled, CSM disabled, I've tried playing around with the different options in the bios, doing a fresh install of windows, but so far, I always get the same results.
Has anyone experienced something similar or have an idea where the problem could be coming from?
Thanks a lot
