Use Windows 8.1. I do not know what happens but I've installed and reinstalled Windows 8.1 several times and always run into this problem. The pc works seemingly well but suddenly, usually to restart, no sound comes out of the speakers. The icon on the Taskbar is usually presented, as well as in Device Manager. However, the error message while performing a sound check in Control Panel audio appears: Failed to run the test tone. Besides the problem of the audio in the Control Panel's System icon Processor and memory items are no longer shown, there is only the message: "Not available".
I've been anti virus but nothing is detected. I have no idea what may be happening. A detail: When I install Windows 7 computer works normally without any of those problems. Only happens with Windows 8.1.
My PC:
Phenom II x6 1100T @ 4GHz
8GB RAM DDR3 1600 GSkill
ASRock 990Fx Fatal1ty Professional
SSD Force GT 120GB
R9 280X 3GB Sapphire
Windows 8.1 Pro
