Hi Guys,
I am having trouble with USB 3.0 on my new X99 OC Formula motherboard.
Actually of the eight ports on the back panel (onboard), two operate as USB3.0 (correct), two more as USB2.0 (correct), and the remaining four as USB2.0 MTT (wrong..). The problem ports are the ones using the Intel USB3.0 eXtensible Controller. The ports are named USB3_1, USB3_2, USB3_3, USB3_4.
Diagnosis: I used to get the message "This Device Could Perform Faster" when I started Windows, so I used USBTreeView.exe and saw that some ports were operating as USB2.0 (see snapshot attached). The highlighted port/hub is the one giving me trouble.
Solutions: So far I have tried: a) going into UEFI and fiddling with the USB settings; b) Reinstalling the latest Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible drivers from the ASRock website.
Questions: Does anyone else have this issue with ASRock motherboards? Does anyone have a solution? Could it be that the motherboard is not getting enough power - on this motherboard there is an additional optional 4-pin power connector (ATX12V2) which I haven't connected?
Ideas?? Thanks!
