    hello .. i have problem using new psu with my asrock g41m-vs3 r2.0 / its need power supply atx v1.0 with 20 or 24 pin with number 18 white wire for -5v / i buy power supply and it didnt work - its used yes but the owner test it in many mothers / i buy another not sheap one and didnt work too then i know that thay are atx v2.0 no whit -5v - just the power led work but no boot / for my luck nothing wronge happen when I bought the display card ( gigabyt gt 610 ) just 29 watt also my cpu e8400 not need mush power - 4g ddr3 ram - 2 hard disks >> for sure i cant upgread to more watt display card and i cant put the new cpu quad 9650 and another 4 giga ram coz the old working psu 250 watt
    now 2 power supplys and another ram and cpu in Office Drawer .. any converter i can use or something ?

    Welcome to the forum.

    Did you connect the square 4-pin ATX_12V power supply cable to the motherboard?

    Your system will not boot if you forget to plug in this cable.

    The ATX_12V has a square connector that is not attached to other power supply cables.

    The mothherboard's ATX_12V connector for this cable is near the upper right corner in the picture.

    Page 23 in your motherboard user manual has additional information for the ATX_12V and 24-pin power supply cables.

      Your board does not need a -5V connection to work. It is not that old, -5V was in the original ATX specification for PC power supplies. The -5 V rail was provided for peripherals on the ISA bus, but was not used by the motherboard. Something else is causing your problem.

      The -5V white wire was in pin 20 of the 24 pin connector, pin 18 of the 20 pin connector.

        yes i do - i know i must do that ....
        Your board does not need a -5V connection to work.
        i think it need that in
        manual thay say that
        ATX Power Connector (ATXPWR1)
        and i search and know that its mean atx v1.0 with -5v needed
        all the new psu not have that -5v wire and just old of them and very low watt ...
        i hope it some thing i can do in bios .....
        i see video some one Puts plugged between the green wire and the black wire While connecting to the motherboard and its turn on - and he say must do that evry time wanna turn on the computer ...

                omg - i get a 3rd psu with that wire (-5v ) and its just the green led but no boot .

                  in the manual pdf there is 2 jumbers thay used to some stuff in saving power and that was the defult - so there was aproblems with the PSs the jumbers was in front audio and lan stages - not in power area in the mother board - that why it was hard to me to fount the problem - i change the jumber and it work gread
