I bought a new ASRock G41C-GS mobo. and bought some ram...Kingston Value RAM 4GB 1333MHz PC3-10600 DDR3 Non-ECC CL9 DIMM SR x8 Desktop Memory (KVR13N9S8/4) only to find out that single sided sticks are compatible. so i bought some Kingston HyperX FURY 8GB Kit (2x4GB) 1333MHz DDR3 CL9 DIMM - Blue (HX313C9FK2/8) only to find out that it does not have compatible DDR3 1333 4g ram and i would need to drop down to DDR3 1066. i remember seeing G.SKILL ram listed, when i came across this review on newegg

    This review is from: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Desktop Memory Model F3-8500CL7D-8GBRL

    Pros:

Popped in my ASRock G41C-GS LGA775 mobo, set the jumper for DDR3 and it was up and running at advertised speeds. Overclocks well, I have these running at 1250Mhz (from the stock 1066Mhz) @ only 1.65v. I'd push them even more if my board had VID control (CPU Voltage) but that's on another review of the mobo mentioned.

    Cons:

It never, not even once, got up early to make me coffee.

    :'o(

    Other Thoughts:

My core 2 quad Q6600 only has DDR3 1066 max memory controller so this RAM is great for what I have and for the $ you can't go wrong. Like I said it overclocks well and the heat spreaders make sure they run cool when there's proper case air flow.

Needless to say i bought G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin SDRAM DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Desktop Memory Model F3-8500CL7D-8GBRL and installed it, set the fsb1 over to pin 2-3 turned on computer, saw all the fans kick on, saw a couple of flashes from the hdd light and that was it. i checked the ram to make sure it seated right stiil the same. i reinstalled the mem and nothing but fans came on, even tried installing just 1 stick still nothing. so i reinstalled the DDR2. now im seeing that G.Skill ships out bad sticks all the time. So my question is how do i know if i have bad mem or a bad mobo or i did something wrong? in the attachment is my system info

i thank you for listening and for any help

Not sure where you saw that (only?) single sided memory is compatible, the following is from the memory specifications of this board:

In order to maximize the system memory, please install two dual sided 4GB memory modules.

    ASRock > G41C-GS

The information in the manual about this jumper is:

If the jumper needs to be moved, "... if you adopt FSB1333-CPU and DDR3 1333 memory module...", why would it need to be moved for 1066 memory?
