  • x99 Taichi gets WHEA 17 errors and BSOD124

    Hi guys
does someone know these problem yet?

I think its the same timing problem which the x79 extreme 6 had in the past (i think it was solved with beta bios 1.0b)

If the graphics card run under pcie gen3 windows get flooted with whea 17 errors until bsod124.
if i turn the pcie manually to gen1 the hole problems are gone, no whea no bsod.

but thats not a solution thats only a workaround.

is there a fix for the taichi yet?

    Dear midnight410,
This is Michael from ASRock Technical support Team.

About this case, we provide following suggestions for verification:
    1. Please load BIOS default to try.
    (BIOS > Press F9 > Press F10)
    2. Update BIOS to P1.40 by instant flash.
    Download link: ftp://europe.asrock.com//BIOS/2011/X99%20Taichi(1.40)ROM.zip
How to update: ASRock - BIOS Upgrade Instruction
    3. Install discrete VGA card on another PCIe x16 slots(PCIE2/PCIE4/PCIE5)
    4. If possible, install different discrete VGA card on the system to check.

If the symptom still remains, please share following information for us.
    1. The system configuration( CPU, memory, VGA card model, BIOS version)
    2. Did you change any BIOS setting?

    Thank you!

    Have a great day,
    ASRock TSD-Michael

Re: x99 Taichi gets WHEA 17 errors and BSOD124

        Dear Midnight410,

We did the test at our side.
There is no whea 17 error and BSOD 124 error message when booting.
        Our configuration:
        Motherboard: X99 Taichi
        BIOS: P1.40
        CPU: i7-6900k
        OS: Windows 7
        VGA: MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X 8G
        RAM: Corsair VENGEANCE® LED 32GB 2 x 16GB 3200MHz

There are the suggestions for trying:
        1. Only install one stick memory on each DIMM slots.
        2. Please remove unnecessary devices(SATA device, USB device)
Only install CPU, memory, one VGA card and OS drive.
        3. Use another HDD to re-install OS for verify.
        4. If possible, try to install another CPU and memory.

        Thank you!
