I have just flashed bios to the previous version and - voilà - temps are normal again (~40° on windows desktop).
I think you should try reflashing with a previous bios version to see if the temps return to previous levels. I have flashed my shuttle with several bios updates using a usb thumb drive to flash from dos and have never had any problems. I used the HP USB format and setup utility to set up my thumb drive as a dos boot disk then just installed the needed files. I also wrote a simple bat file to perform the actual flash so that I did not have to remember the dos command just have to run the bat file and everything is automatic after that. Information on setting up a usb thumb drive as a dos boot disk for flashing is available over on the Sudian SFF forums if you check I think there is also links to the HP utility available there as well if you have a usb thumb drive you can use. I would not recommend flashing from windows as there have been several reports of problems doing that I think flashing from dos is much safer.

A BIOS update will be released shorty to fix this problem,
I was going to attach it here, but the file size is larger than
the 150K limit. So check the Shuttle Download page for the BIOS update.

Great news, Eric, and thanks a lot! I will give it a shot. Could you provide us with some more information about the cause?
Unfortunately I cannot, as I do not have the details.
But it was something different with the 45nm CPUs BIOS update, which caused the CPU temps to go up. But it has been fixed, thanks for the input.

Hi Eric,
I have sent you a PM.
Eric, as I am a bit unsure if you allowed pm's in your profile, here a special public email adress of another user with the same problem: email_empfang@web.de
