can you please provide a detail spec of your system.
Hi all!
After updating bios to version sg33sm12 the temperature of my intel e6850 cpu jumped to 58° C compared to 43° C before.
Could anyone confirm similar temp jumps?
Best regards
Hella

Are you reading these temps from BIOS or something else?
I assume these temp reading are all done during the setup, no load etc.
can you give a little more details as to how you got the temps, or if you might have changed any setup

I am reading the temps from BIOS and XPC-Tool (XP-Desktop) - they are identical. The only thing I have changed was flashing bios to newest version. After the first restart I noticed a much higher fan speed than before and wanted to know the reason for that.
Hi Eric,
here are the specs of another SG33G5 user with that temp-problem:
Intel 6850 Cpu
2 GB Muskin Ram DDR 800 (micron-ausstattung; 4-4-3-10)
8800 GT Zotac amp
Pf27 Mediafront
Plextor 760 Brenner
Seagate ST3250410AS Sata2 Festplatte
-> Shuttle SG33G5 Bios SG33SM12 -> falsche CPU-Temp?

Apologize for the slow replies, im still trying to get answers from my tech support team.
But im very curious, can you flash back to the older BIOS and see if that changes anything?
With the link, it doesn't appear to be in english, so i am unable to read it.

Hi Eric,
of course I could flash it back to the previous version, but as I have already killed a shuttle-board that way in the past, I would like to leave the bios as it is now.
The barebonecenter-forum is in german, right. I will post other system specs when I receive them.
Best regards
Hella
Room ambient temperature and air circulation around the Shuttle could also cause temperature change my core temps dropped about 4-5c between my Aug and Nov reading due to ambient room temp changes Summer to Winter but 15c does seem a little extreme.

We are not talking about a slight temp drop within two months, but a significant raise within two minutes - this is really too extreme. And the wrong direction for winter months...
