Isn't 9900 Pro the R400? Are you in major need of a new video card? If you need one, I would get a 9800 Pro for $300 and then wait until next year and buy the R400 (or whatever the code name is).
Should I buy the 9800XT? or just wait for the 9900? Does anyone know when it is coming out by any chance? Thanks,
Radeon 9800XT: 8 pipelines, 412MHz core output, 365Mhz memory.
Radeon 9900 Pro: 12 pipelines, 580Mhz core output, 700Mhz memory.

Where did you get this information about the 580Mhz core? To my knowledge they haven't said much at all about this GPU and that sounds high to me.
The XT won't do anything the Pro can't except for higher clocks on the memory. That isn't worth the extra $150-200 you will pay.
glocc9: ATI's next high-end graphics card will be the R420-Loki, which should be released around March 2004.
Alright thanks a lot for the advice, I think im just gunna keep my 9800 Pro cause the "loki" is around the corner.
Soul- Friend sent me that info through msn, no clue if its right or not

Ohh, I didn't read your sig. You made a good decision because the 9800 Pro will definitely last you until March.

I fail to see the use or practicallity of upgrading from a 9800 pro anytime in the next 12 months. I would bet the only program or app that has ever used the dx9 in your card is 3d '03 or aquamark3. Just out of curiosity, what card did you have before the current one?

Worked good for counter-strike lol. Since I quit that I decided to go buy halo, and to my suprise it was a dx9 game and my card wasn't compatible. So I was thinking bout buying the 9800XT came here asked, asked around some more, then decided I should just get a 9800pro

I also just bought halo the day it came out. It works great with my ti4800se which is a 8x ti4400. At all highest settings. I am running it at 4x which makes no real difference anyway. I already finnished the game. No need to upgrade here. What wasnt compatable about that card?

Yeah Halo works just fine on a Ti4600 DX8 video card.
