ok i have good deal on a fx 5700 ultra available to me, problem is that i only have a 235w power supply in my comp and it needs a minimum 250w for the card, i was wondering if i could get away with it since i'm not running any fans save the one for my processor, one hd, a dvd rom, a cd rom, and my floppy. any chance?

The fx5700 will have no airflow so why bother, it will probably crash from overheating/lack of current. Many computers nowadays can barely cope with heat problems caused by little or no airflow/poor psu.
Option #2, get a better psu and a few fans, would make everything work better.

You might actully be ok with a 1.6. I would reccommend to get bigger PSU, but that might do.

The reason he asked is some processors take up more juice than others.
