Help, help i need some advice from you gurus.......

Here's the story.....
I bought an A8V Asus motherboard with a 3400+, a leadtek 6800gt, 200mb HDD, and a dvd drive.

I put everything together correctly, and powered up. No signal to my monitor. Trouble shooting i took my old vid card (9200se) and put it on my mother board.......no signal to the CRT. My Monitor, and my old 9200se work fine in my old puter.

So what is wrong do ya think?? I'm thinking a bad mother board??

Let me know........I'd hate to wait till Mon after Christmas to be able to get to the tech assistance from Asus.

I would try reseating everything check all connectors over try reseting the bios with the jumper and try it again. What kind of memory are you running? If you pulll the memory and get a beep code you know the mb is getting a no memory signal and it should be working.
Are you getting a green light on the mbo?
Also what kind of power supply are you using on this new system?
If it is a 250W likely you don't have enough juice you need at least a 300W PS.

I did reset the Cmos, im running new kingston 512mb pc3200 x 2, brand new 400W power supply recomended for AMD. The little green light on the mobo is on when i power up........ everything is virgin, i haven't even installed the O/S yet..... nothing on the screen, and cant get to the bios.

Could it have anything to do with my new hard drive being an ATA-100?? Or should the mobo still show the bios on the screen?

It looks like i bought "registered" memory...........if my board doesnt support this kind of memory, could that be what my problem is???

Yup that was it..........my board doesnt recognize registered memory. A quick trip the the puter supermarket and im up and running...

I just want to thank all of you for your input in helping me trouble shoot and fix the problem. You guys were great.
