An E8400 cpu update for $170 would be nice, but my E6300 is more than fast enough for my everyday needs.
I'd love to have a Q9550 but not for $275 (new).
Yup prof jim, i think if u change procie to core2quad or core2duo E8400 and run at high speed then ur score will increase :)

Hmm yup correct profjim, Q9550 new price is not logical ... to expensive, maybe u can try find an Q9550 used one (you buy from user who want to sell his Q9550), then u'll have more good price :) i used to do like this for my Q9550 hehehe bought from myfriend ^_^ new Q9550 is to much cost, i cant afford it.

I ran some additional DX11 tests with tessellation = Normal that resulted in some unexpected benchmarks:
----------- FPS --- Score --- min ---- max
850/4000 - 36.4 ---- 916 ---- 6.9 ---- 90.9
850/4100 - 36.4 ---- 917 ---- 8.9 ---- 87.4
850/4200 - 36.4 ---- 917 ---- 8.1 ---- 88.1
850/4400 - 36.5 ---- 920 ---- 7.1 ---- 91.1
The min and max columns are the high and low FPS scores.
I wasn't expecting a large increase in test scores as memory speed was increased, but I expected larger increases as memory speed was increased 2.5%, 5.0%, and 10%.
I've been running with the 260.99 Nvidia drivers for these tests.
I'm going to "downgrade" to the original 259.22 drivers and rerun some of these tests.
Stayed tuned for further updates as they happen....
***EDIT*** The only problem with buying a used Q9550 is that the previous owner might have thoroughly abused his cpu by running way too many IBT/LinX stress tests where each test was at least twice as long as it should have been. I don't wanna name names, but does this sound like anyone we know Neoroy?![]()

In post #17, I said:
I right click on an image, select COPY IMAGE, and paste it in my IrfanView image program. You will probably need to copy the picture to your image viewing program to easily read the information.
The image in post #25 is 1794px × 853px (scaled to 800px × 380px) in FireFox.
FireFox right clicking also lets you VIEW IMAGE in another tab, where you can left click on the new image to zoom in somewhat.
The six Heaven tests were all run with the same gpu/memory settings and voltages:
DX9 with no tessellation
DX10 with no tessellation
DX11 with tessellation = disabled
DX11 with tessellation = moderate
DX11 with tessellation = normal
DX11 with tessellation = extreme to show the benchmark differences with each setting.
For advice with your new MSI P55 motherboard, the best way to get expert support will be to find a quality site that deals with MSI boards. Be sure to check out the MSI forums on their web sites. There are subtle differences with bios settings from each manufacturer and some bios setting combinations will be different.
FWIW, I emailed MSI tech support with a question about aftermarket VRM heatsinks. They responded very quickly to my question where they said that they do not support aftermarket cooling solutions.
