Looking at card(s) for a new build

wazza, once I found out the heatkiller block wouldn't fit the Sapphire card I wanted I just went the cheaper route. I already have the card and water block but it's going in my new build and I still got a bunch of stuff to do before I get it fired up. Sleeving is going slow and I'm doing some case mods on the Switch.

ahh yeah i forgot about waterblock compatibility,youll be suprised how hot they get tbh,not that much.highest ive seen mine is 72c on really hot day,id have gone for a referance card if you were watercooling it(thats if you havnt gone that route already) wasnt sure

Yeah, that was the holdup, trying to find out which cards had the reference pcb. There really isn't a "reference" 7950, they use the 7970 I was told. Anyway I went with EK water block, it seemed the easiest way to go and not get stuck with something that would not work. I haven't tried it out yet, or put the water block on yet. I actually just got a spare ATX cable from Seasonics' US supplier to use while I'm sleeving the other one so maybe I'll get to it soon, curious to see what it will do.
This whole business with water blocks seems like a crap shoot to me and trying to find out which cards have reference pcb's isn't always easy if it's newer cards.

Nope, still not installed. Still working on case mods, and I didn't want to put everything in only to take it back out all the time. Here's a teaser pic:

It's been fun! Great case for the price. I've just been taking my time. Painting these mod parts has gone slow, between rain and stuff. I have another piece I finally took in a small shed and painted because there's so much pollen blowing around.
Going to try and get the water block mounted on the card this weekend, and start building the loop I hope. Finally got all 14 fans hooked up to the controller and working. (4 on the 240 rad, 6 on the 360, 4 case fans)

No, I bought it white. Why did you think I painted the case? I painted the black enclosure at the bottom I made which covers the psu/240 rad. I have another piece covering the top bays painted white, but it's not mounted in that pic.
