I5-3570K HD4000 IGP + Nvidia 8800GTX?

Wondering if there'll be any benefit in using my old Nvidia 8800GTX card with my new I5-3570K system?

I Won't be getting a new graphics card for a while but was curious if adding the 8800GTX would help the onboard graphics in any way with games like Battlefield 3?

should improve things,thats the whole idea with lucid virtu mvp,to share the load between igpu and dedicated graphic card

Thanks Wazza300, originally discounted utilising lucid virtu mvp and the 8800GTX thinking as it was a 5 year old card it wouldn't really be beneficial.

Might have to read up on lucid virtu mvp and see if it helps.

it cant hurt to test and see,use fraps to see the frames per second

Added the 8800GTX now and it was definately worth while for me.

Battlefield 3 running on medium settings before was getting 19fps using the HD4000 intergrated graphics. Same settings with the 8800GTX and Virtu MVP Hyperformance gave 40fps. Also alot more headroom now for running higher res and tweaking settings.

An old favorite Team Fortress 2 liked it alot. Maximum settings at 1080p giving 60fps solid. Slightly lower settings flew along at 200fps.

Nice to be able to still use a 5 year old card for such gains.

thats a good improvement,should let you squeeze a few more years life out of the 8800
