Help with DDR

I own a MSi K7n2 Delta L board with an ATHLON XP 2000+ T-bred JIUHB 0318. my probelm is wich memory should i buy, ddr400 or 333. is it really worth paying the extra bucks for 400 since the fsb of the cpu is only 266?

well that mobo is nforce2 right?
if so, that means that you can OC your system to run at 200FSB, which is where the pc3200 (DDR400) is going to be better than pc2700 (DDR333).
But if you dont plan OCing than you can go with the PC2700

thanks for your reply. if i get it right i should lower the multiplier and raise the fsb to 200 so the cpu's fsb runs according to the memory speed? im not shure if my multiplier is unlocked though, any clues?

Yeah thats exactly right.
nforce2 automatically unlocks your mulitplier as far as I know. so you should be all set.

ok thanks for your help. another question is if how much more performance will i get from ddr 400 vs ddr 333? is it worth or should i rather use the price differrence in buying something else for mi pc?

Well you could get a good vid card, or go with RAID setup, but besiedes those 2 I dont think that memory would be best upgrade.
Also, you could possibly set up a dual channel DDR400 which would increase even more over the 333 stick
