I try to stay clear of LG, mainly do to the poor quality of their products, at least that's been the case for me. On that reason alone I would suggest the Phillips.
I bought a Hercules 17" LCD monitor a few months ago, just happened to break down on me a week ago. I returned it to where I bought it from, and it seems like that they've discontinued the product, or either it will take months before I can it replace, so instead the place credited me with the $795 back to choose another monitor. I'm still after 17" LCD. I looked at the range and these two come close to what I'm interested in.
Which one would be better?
Pros and cons?
Thanks.
LG 1710B 17" LCD Monitor with USB $780
Phillips 170S4FB 17" $820

I've gone too far and need to move on!
Phillips makes excellent, high quality products. Their monitors I know from experience are usually very well put together, and use high quality parts. I'd buy a Phillips monitor any day.
