well right now i have P4 1.8, with a Intel-D845EBG2 MB

im getting a P4 2.8 800fsb, with the new HT

ive already gotten this MB intel-D865PERL

yes its not the fastest or best, but ive had nothing but good exp from intel. and compared to what i got it will be a big inprovment.

but ram is issue now, it supports up to 4gig,
but im thinking 2 X 512 DDR sticks will be fine.
so... this is what looks like it would work best for the pirce and the name brand of ram it is.

good choice on the RAM, i've had a lot of good experiences with Crucial. :)

Personally I'd go for CAS2 or even CAS2.5 as that CAS3 is very slow and that will effect performance more, especially on that Intel mobo.

Crucial RAM has always run at faster timings than advertised. It has never been any trouble for me to get it to run at CAS 2, but maybe I've just gotten lucky in the past :)
