2 Geforce 6600 GT or a radeon x800 pro

I'll get an asus motherboard with SLI...I ask myself which graphic card should I get for about 600 canadian bucks. I hesitate between 2 BFG GEFORCE 6600 GT OC AGP8X 128MB (311.22$ * 2 ON NCIX) and a SAPPHIRE RADEON X800 PRO PCI EXPRESS 256MB DDR (584,67$ ON NCIX). Which choice should get me the best performances ? And who's BFG...do they suck ? ;)

BFG Tech= http://www.bfgtech.com/ . The Tech supports good but the company is questionable.

I'd guess the 2 Gs would do better than that ATI card but they'll suck alot of juice. I'd get a newer high power PSU with 4 seperate 12v rails if it were me buying those cards. For the price difference I'm guessing go the cheap way here and get two cards instead of one.

Thanx ;) Yeah, anyway right now I don't have a computer, so it will be all new hardware. I'll return to school in Networking science so gouvernement will lend me 2000$. I'll probably buy my computer before that so I'll get like 4000$ to build one. That's a bit crazy but anyway, with this I should get 1 raptor 72g, 1 seagate barracuda 200g sata, 4*512 corsair dual channel corsair...hum the pro kit with the lights going up and down. For the processor I'll take Athlon 64 core 939 3500+, and I'll go with the last ASUS baby SLI mobo. Should buy creative Gigaworks 7.1 that packs 700w rms....thats crazy in the brrrain :O. I had 1 set of altec lansing with 31 rms and it goes loud....700....wouah. Any idea on what performance processor cooler and psu I should get ?

Whoa, slack it dude, why dont tou get a decent system with 2000$ and wait for the prices to go lower? You could upgrade a year later and still be able to do everything you need to...

BTW why 4x512meg of ram?? Will that work in dual channel? Why not 2x1024 meg?

Some dont want to wait, and if you wait something new will come out that you want and you will save for that... and the cycle continues.

BTW why 4x512meg of ram?? Will that work in dual channel? Why not 2x1024 meg?

4x512 will work in dual channel last time I tried just not as well as 2x 512 in dual channel

As for the 2x1024....NEVER!!! The latencies on those are compleatly not worth the extra amount of RAM. I would prefer 4x512. And on that topic I dont see why you would need 2GB of RAM anyway, You wont see much if any proformance increase with 2GB compaired to 1GB of RAM(Unless you are doing some sort of video editing or video rendering, but if you were going to do that you probably would have picked a Intel system)...
Damn I hate saying the ..."I" word but they are the best at that because of their high running frequency.

Hehe don't bother for SYX he's a friend of mine and wanted to poke me with a stick just a little bit :D. Ok maybe I won't put the extra money for 2 new corsair, i'll put some of it on other things like a nice powersupply and cooling system, and by the way my questions about that have not been answered ;)

With that kind of cash I'd get something like a Turbo-Cool 850 Deluxe PSU. Hard to find right now since they are very new, but are made for SLI systems. Runs about $430 US. For cooling maybe you should check into liquid cooling, I don't know much about it but I'm guessing its in your price range.

Well the cooler would depend on if you wanted water cooling of just air... if you want air, how far are you wanting to take this thing overclocking wise?

As for the power supply.... THIS should be able to power ANYTHING you put in that system of yours

I suggest an Enermax Power supply, they get a lot of good reviews from buyers and technicians!
For the Heatsink look Thermalright and Zalman choose the model depending on your budjet.
