    Try doing a minimal hardware test. Only boot the system with 1 stick of ram no hdd, use onboard video if it has it. No USB devices except for keyboard, mouse and your USB device to boot to windows install. See if that works, if it does add 1 device back in at a time.

    Can your system boot from your usb drive to a windows install?

    I have already done a minimal hardware test. The USB will read the windows files then fail in the middle of the windows logo before getting to the install process. The USB will however work on other computers I have. The motherboard doesn't have on-board video.

    try disabling floppy drives in the bios and drive a,even if you dont have a floppy drive,ive seen that halt or throw up win7 install errors

    I have since fixed the issue, should have closed the thread. Turned out the CPU was bad, yet the BIOS recognized it as if it had been fine. Replaced with a Phenom II x4 965 BE awhile back, runs fine now.
