I would first try removing and re-installing the memory sticks.
I have been playing around with an older computer P 233mhz,
32 meg of memory, 2.1 gig hard drive and running Windows 98.
Since I have been experimenting with different monitors on this computer, --once in a while when I turn it on, I get the following message "THE FOLLOWING CONFIGERATION OPTIONS WERE AUTOMATICALL UPDATED
TOTAL MEMORY INSTALLED 16,384 "
At the lower left of the screen I see, F1 SAVE CHANGES
My only option is to place the mouse over that message and click. Nothing else will work at that point, other than manually turning the computer off. After I accept that SAVE, the computer loads normally, and if I look in SYSTEM, it does tell me it has 32 meg of memory. Any suugestions, Mike

Hi Bigjack,
Removed the memory sticks and wiped them clean. Reinserted the sticks, and I haven't received that error message the last 6 times I started the computer. I guess that was the cure. Many thanks, Mike
