    Default Arrgh Help with DVD Writer please

    I have MSI DR16-B DVD writer (copy speed 16x for DVD+/-R),and i installed nero that comes with the retail box, then i attempted to copy a dvd-r tru' nero, and it copied at 4X speed, and i am unable to change copy speed, why god why???

    Just an idea .... what speed is the disk you were burning to rated at? I don't have a DVD burner but I do know that my 52X CD burner will only burn at the rated speed of whatever disk I feed it. I'm assuming that the same sort of situation applies to DVDs.

    Yes, its because the DVD wasn't high quality enough to handle the speed. Also check your settings in Nero, you should be able to adjust the speed manually.

    It was what prairiedawg said, the dvd rating is probably 4x, but since i never burned any cds or dvd's before i didn't know there was a maximun burn speed (and since my dvd pack does not says the burn speed i got confused).
