Default New Build Complete. Power shuts off and turns back on.

    Hello.

I have just completed my second build. Parts are listed below. Website for links provides english option at top right of page.

I was extremely careful when building and followed all precautionary measures that I could possibly make.

Once all components were installed. I powered up with no problems whatso ever. Left Bios settings as default but changed AHCPI (one HDD installed) I then proceeded to intall windows 7x64bit (without an internet connection). I needed to install twice as this was a windows upgrade package from xp on a new machine. Then Drivers and antivirus (nothing else)

Still no problems. Then allowed windows to update. This took some time and after each update reboot more updates would come.

At some point during this procedure I left the room for a coffee. Upon returning the PC appeared to be rebooting so I waited.

This is where my problem comes:

The PC fans, lights, HDD and DR Debug would all be functioning, then from no where the power and all vissible components would turn off. Followed shortly after with the PC turning back on and randomly off and on again. It would never turn off at the same point. It would simply do this randomly.

I have been able to boot into windows since. Only when the occurance did not happen at all.

I actually thought the problem was fixed after I cleared the cmos. As I was then able to boot into windows and proceeded with new installtion proceedures and software. I even installed a couple of games and was playing them without problem.

I had shutdown and powered on many times in an attempted test, without problems. Then after coming back the following day the same occurance happened. Power on, fans working hdd with noise etc..then no power, then power back on again and off etc..etc.. Then at some point after disconecting the power and reconnecting it booted correctly with no apparent problems what so ever.

Please can someone help with the diagnostics of this problem.

    Further information.

Bios version 2.0 Asrock p55 pro motherboard
    I have cleared the cmos.
    I have checked cabling
I have re installed windows 7 again
I have experimented with graphics card power cable unplugged.
I do have another power supply (Corsair 650Watt) though this is installed in another PC.
I presume I can return parts as I have 2 weeks no questions asked. (10 Days to go).

I Do not understand why this new thread was posted twice.
I apologize and hope it hasn't caused anyconfusion.
I have posted a link in my other thread that was used prior to building.

Thanks. and please respond, I am feeling rather edgy about the situation.

It's cool, I deleted your other thread earlier and just now made it into this section of the forum.

I'll post you a reply about your issues in one second.

Sorry I really do not know Asrock BIOS options, so I can't be of much help there, but I assume this may be where the issue partially lies.

You need to set your own QPI/Vtt and Vdimm voltages manually if you are not already. You may also need a larger PSU for sure, but not sure about that.

Is that memory on the compatible list for your board?

Wish I could offer you more advice, but sorry I only know Gigabyte boards.

    Ok thanks anyway.

I have found that the PSU was to blame
And I am now concerned about a non functioning GPU that was part of the build. I have swapped that as well and I have full function of the PC.
