What about the newer cars with electronic keys? If there was no demand for them, you can bet your sweet arse that they wouldn't come standard.
Damn Wb that was a nice example, let's just hope he understands our point this time..

Hell yes I lock my car! But I DON'T treat EVERY TOM DICK AND HARRY that comes near my car as if they are gonna steal it! Some people I know are like that though ....have a car alarm and every time it is a false alarm! The only thing unless you are in a high crime area that they are good for is to get your exercise to run out to the car every 10 to 15 minutes and try to shut it off!! And what thell does a LOCK on a car have to with being able to play an avi file? Look, you have YOUR opinion and I have mine! You say that those protections are needed because microsoft has a right to treat everyone like criminals...I say NO! I WILL NOT be treated like a criminal just because some idiot at microisoft wants to treat me like one! There are FAR too many cases that the RIAA and others have been involved in where innocent people got taken to the cleaners and when it was done they weere lucky if they got an "excuse me" from the company! So I \will use another player if that is OK with you and the-tweaker!
    Here are my specs:
System Specs: ATX generic case with Antec 550 watt power supply. ASUS A7N8X Deluxe Motherboard. Western Digital 7,200 RPM 40 gig IDE Hard Drive.(NTFS- file system) AMD Athlon XP 2600 processor.(standard fan and heatsink-Thoroughbred Core-standard speed-NO OVERCLOCK) 1 gig of Samsung DDRAM(PC 2700- 333 mhz....2-512mb sticks running in dual channel mode).Ati Radeon 8x 9600 XT (8x is enabled on motherboard). Soundblaster Audigy 2 sound card. Motorola sb 5100 cable modem (Insight Communications-Cable Connection) BenQ 16x DVD- RECORDER.(records -R/-RW or +R/+RW and CD-R formats) LG 52x32x52 CD Burner. Zip 100 internal drive and a generic 3.5 floppy drive. Windows XP Professional Operating System. I also have a HP Deskjet 3520 inkjet printer and a KDS X Flat 17 inch CRT monitor.

I just don't want to go to jail for playing an mp3 that I could already own but THE RECORDING INDUSTRY thinks it is illegal because they didn't take the time to check it out, rather relied on BOTS which have been known to mess up before ...GOT IT??

2.If everything is really that easy....how come there is that post I mentioned about somebody not understanding why their new player woin't play stuff their old player did? True, he should have looked harder, but seriously, how many people will take the time to look for an answer to this question before making a post like that!??
though all the comments were for The_tweaker but i can't resist saying something
    1. Do you know what you are talking about? :?: Where did you get that info from? Who was sent to jail for playing a MP3 file? Anyways how will RIAA/ Recording Industry know that you have MP3 files on your PC? Those bots you are talking about are installed with the help of your ISP to track something like kaazaa and are not present in windows media player.

    2. Ever heard about codecs?

    shhh...:shh:
he will say we are suggesting another media player...we are not supposed to do that :p
even if he installs the proper "codecs", WMP 9 will do everything for him and no it will not land him up in jail.
    only if he understands
