yup they made two changes in short interval. first on 24th Sept. and another one on 25th Sept.
this was a real shock especially for Gaim. they released 0.69 (their latest version) with updated protocols for Yahoo! and MSN on 25th only but in very few hours Yahoo! screwed their plans.
Users who were successful in connecting to Yahoo! (once) reported that the updated protocol was working fine but they were unable to connect after sometime, when they tried to login with their other accounts.

now we all need new patches

Latest installment of Microsoft sawing their own nuts off....
Unbelievable to me...:wow: 5 years ago when I first turned on my very own computer, I discovered free chat at MSN. Once I got past my initial embarrassment at being a n00b, I realized that my writing muse had come alive again, and my outlook on people became more global in nature. Now, had that been a service I had to pay for, I doubt I'd be where I am in computing knowledge, awareness of other places and lifestyles, and wouldn't be here and happy with the woman that met me by perusing MSN chat profiles. Sure, many of the people that chat regularly will switch over, but what about new chatters? What about the folks that won't use anything unless it's free for whatever reasons? Perhaps it's a wonderful thing, as it seems to me Microsoft is putting money into the pockets of providers of free service alternatives to their overwhelming greed and desire for control.
