    Unless you are a professional photographer or image editor who needs Photoshop's advanced or prepress features, you likely can do just about everything that you need or want to do with GIMP instead of Adobe Photoshop. That is particularly true where digital photography and editing photos and images for Web pages are involved.
    Yes that is what MozillaQuest says. Site is currently releasing various tutorials for those Windows/Linux users who use Photoshop for every simple task they want to do. Till now 3 tutorials have been released in the series.

    gotta love GIMP :thumb:
    I've tried to convince people of the merits of GIMP before without a great deal of sucess perhaps a few guides will change that :D
    I've gone too far and need to move on!

    I must say, after a 15 minute play with it, I was quite impressed. :) It matches what PSP can do very closely...

    GIMP is pretty darn cool, although Photoshop 7 is, IMHO, the better program of the two.

    Yes Photoshop 7 can't be beaten really, but the pricetag is quite hefty.. :(

    Of course, when you come down to value per dollar, the free GIMP wins out ;) :).
