Ok, I got a new machine yesterday and installed AVG on it today which works great!

I was wondering what process the actual auto protect is?
What's that other process, anything really needed..:?:

avgcc32.exe is the auto and i'm not sure what the other one actually does.
Happiness isn't something you experience; it's something you recall.

avgserv.exe is AVG's notification service and the service that AV killer trojans and virii try to target so that ya don't know that ya have been attacked so don't turn it off or ya won't know about a possible infection.

    Ok thx guys.

I've been setting up another comp this week and it's now fully tweaked the way I want it. All unnecessary services are disabled and only 14 processes running not counting the task manager itself which is good cause it's the low end machine in my sig. :)
