I think Firefox is much faster, especially on a dialup connection.

Firefox is faster on dial-up, but I noticed the slightest decrease in speed for cable. Its well worth it though for the additoinal security. There are some really cool extensions, too. It also has many cool features IE doesn't. Like being able to highlight something, right clicking, and pressing search the web. That's so handy. And the download window has a pause download feature, very cool.

Netscape also has the download manager but I still preder firefox, agreed that it is slower on cable. It is slower with gigabit aswell but not very noticable because of the speed... I am going to try to convince our school district to switch to firefox instead of IE.

lol ive tested firefox. IT starts quicker than IE. Loads pages quicker than IE. And you can have more pages open with less memory drain. the thing I like best about firefox is all the cool features and plug ins. one plug in that i have lets u search a public archive of user accounts for numerous sites so when u go to a site that u dont want to make an account for (like fileplanet) u just right click and 9/10 there is a public account that u can use. It even automatically logs u in. i haven't used much of opera but I think firefox is the best browser right now.
my view on the two party system...

Oh please, it's not slower. Try running some real tests, it's not slower at all, not even marginally. But when you have bandwidth to spare, does it really matter?
