Thread: Red Alert 2 crashes

  1. #1

    Default Red Alert 2 crashes

i just got the command and conquer collection, and tiberian sun and its expansion run fine, but the newer games like renegade and especially red alert 2 crash. renegade crashes after installation when i go to run it, and red alert 2 will crash when i go to install it. the message when i go to blue screen is an 0x0000008E STOP error. i tried a few things like updating drivers, but still no luck. im using a Leadtek winfast px6600TD, intel P4 3.0 Ghz EE, 1024mb of RAM, ASUS P5GD1 PCI-Express motherboard.

I take it that the error message also mentioned, "Nv4 disp.dll"?

If so then this is likely just a driver issue (try a few different driver versions) or your PSU isn't supplying enough power.

the message didnt mention a Nv4 disp.dll. the full error message is 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x86755E1B, 0xB91AE85C, 0x00000000) ive tried updating drivers, both from nvidia and the leadtek sites but the same thing still happened.

Perhaps I'll go through some of the results on my own later, but I just don't feel up to looking at MS KB articles right now.
