View Full Version : Gigabyte GA-7DXR+ Competition!

Anonymous

How would you like to win yourself a brand new Gigabyte GA-7DXR+ motherboard? The colourful motherboard from Gigabyte (http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/products/7dxr+.htm) uses the AMD 761 chipset with full support for the AMD Athlon, XP and Duron processors with up 3GB of DDR SDRAM. That's not all, this motherboard also has full Promise ATA133 RAID support and USB 2.0. Here's what we are playing for:

http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/products/img/7dxr+.jpg

The good news is we have one to giveaway in the forums!

Now your wondering just how you can win it... Right? Well, it's really quite simply. Once you have registered and signed up for the forums and posted 25 messages, you are eligible to enter the contest. Not that hard right? Once you've got 25 posts to your name, you have to answer both of the following questions:

1) What do you like about TweakTown?
2) What don't you like about TweakTown?

Competition Update - Only 10 post required now!

Anyone from any country is eligible to win, we pay shipping anywhere in the world. Entries are chosen randomly and the competition will end on the morning of the 25th of February Australian time. If you've been a member of the TweakTown Forums for a while now and have already clocked up 25 posts or more, just answer the question by replying to this thread and you'll be entered into the competition automatically!

Best of luck to you all and happy posting - Remember people who post pointless messages will not be eligible to win.

Well, the "Like about TT" part is easy..

Great community.. There aren't that many forums like this one (Beer Garden :?: ).
Wealth of information, easily accessible.
Post a question, and a minute later you can have an answer.
NO POPUPS. Yeah, we all love those. :thumb:
Very nice design on the website/forum.

"Dislike" gets harder..

Hmm..
Hmm..
Hmm..
Oh yeah.. not enough beer..
The fact that the smilies selection board stops when you click on one of them.. Those smilies are COOL! :geek:

The reason for lack of reviews lately is the lack of new hardware. That will all change within the next few weeks as the GeForce4 has been released and manufacturers should be announcing their GF4 based boards in the near future. There is also DDR333 chipsets on the horizon and some other interesting goodies on the way.

We're in for a busy few months :)

does everything count as a valid answer?? no seriously..
- The forum community is just awesome! ppl can come to the forums for help with hardware/software problems. or even Personal problems! even Tweak himself has come to the forums for advice on personal problems! i have yet to see any other forums like this.
- The constant evolution of the site...i hate sites that are always the same. never change.. but TT just keeps growing from strength to strength. even with all the set backs we've had, good work:thumb:
- the webnews, thanks Wiggo. great job..and love the new layout. much easier :)
- the layout, its really simple to find your way around this site unlike some others which will remain nameless..i hate wastin time tryin to find somethin in a cluttered site.. but here. everythings set out perfectly.
- the smilies! they rock! lol

dislikes:
- the lack of in house reviews + guides lately (which isnt anyones fault as ppl have pointed out, hope it picks up soon guys)
- the recent downtime of the forums, and problems with the servers :( (which once again. isnt anyones fault)
- the occassional ppl who disrupt the forums...(on a side note. i'd like to applaud the regulars of the forums who take this behaviour so well and deal with it in a mature manner)..but then again. that happens at all forums and cant be pointed out as a bad point for TT :)
umm thats about it hey. i dont have any probs with the site!

- The competitions (if it's to be a permanent part of TT) :)
- The smileys available in the forums, I haven't seen any other website's forums having as comprehensive a set at that on Tweak.
- Personalities: it's definitely what makes or breaks a community, and we got a great bunch of people here.
- Clean, efficient site design. Amateur website designers tend to go overboard with fancy fonts, pop ups, or unecessary java or shockwave features just to show off. That doesn't impress me. For daily viewing pleasure, TT's simplistic design is easy on the eyes and the font size is just right for me. :p

Disklikes:
- Ummm.... the range of smileys?! When my IE cache is flushed, and I come back to the forums it takes quite a while to load up all those animated gif smileys again. But that's not TT's fault, it's my slow dial-up.
- Also another thing that's beginning to bug me: people with ultra humongous sigs. I mean cmon - be sensible! :toung:

My winxp and cable modem have never been running better. I think i could go on forever but i realize you'll have like a hundred more of of these to read so i guess i'll stop now.

:thumbs do dislikes: I don't really have any. Well since i have to. I wish there were more Canadians here, i think i've only seen 2 or 3 others. :shoot: : peace: shooting hippies? Then try Tweaktown! They are the **** and they have everything in teh whole wide world!

First was TT is bad: Umm, err, doesn't regularly ship free, unreleased hardware to my house, delivered by naked hot women instantaneously by teleportation. Regularly.

Tweaktown is my favorite place in the universe, because:
-Moderators and everyone else is totally kick ass knowledgable, nice, intelligent people, who I like to talk to.
-Forum is set up awesome, News is absolutely the best ever
-Smilies are fun:sun:
-Contests rock, plus I think I need a motherboard more than anyone else here, I am running an evil Aopen AK33 Via POS KT133, combined with Windows XP it slows it down soo bad. I also have no job which sucks, since I have tried like 5 places recently. I love TT so much and I hope the wil love me back by awarding me this fine motherboard. In fact, I think I will write a collosal essay on why TT kicks ass. GO!

Tweaktown is the most informative website that I read. They aren't as in depth as Tom's Hardware, but I don't really like that as much, as Tom's sometimes gives more info than necessary. TT is full of wonderful people and information. It is my goal to become a reviewer for TT sometime when I can further hone my reviewing skills to the point of TT worthyness. As TT founder Cameron Wilmot said: "without a doubt the most important people are you, the loyal readers of TweakTown!" That's me right? Too bad all my work would go in vain were I to write the 15 page essay I was planning on. I just realized that the entries are chosen randomly. I was seriously going to write a 10 page essay on why TT is great. I still will if you'll give me teh motherboard

Well hopefully the server problems are behind us - Elite Internet Communications (http://www.eicomm.net) do a wonderful job of providing TweakTown with an affordable and reliable service. Even when the forums go down now, the main database stays online. Very impressive!

Slow speeds? Well, the speeds have increased here in AUS since the change of server. A 1GHz CPU, 512MB of RAM and a 60GB RAID-1 array form our backbone, and with links to three of America's largest Telco providers - you can be assured of redundancy :thumb:

And since we have a dedicated server, it leaves us more room to grow. :)
