What to do first

Hi,
I know this will be simple for most of you but I've just never thought of it before.

Which should I install first

DirctX 9.0 or New Video Drivers.

I have a ASUS V9280 GF4 Ti4200 AGP 8X (running at 4x) with old drivers. 31.40F

I am currently on DirectX 8.1

ASUS drivers Version 44.03 are currently out and I was updating things but wasn't sure which to update first.

Is there a correct order or does it matter?

Is there a particular reason that dx goes first?

the drivers utilize dx, and many will tell you to install the version of DX it requires first, before installing the drivers
