  • All my problems solved

Many thanks to all who contributed over the past month or so.
After a few formats and trying dozens of different thing/driver/applications/diognostic tools and making 32 coasters in between  I have now solved all in one foul swoop.
My SB card is now laying on the garage floor, after an vicious assault with a 20 ounze eastwing fencing hammer:hammer:

Mi IRQ list now reads thus

    IRQ 0 System timer OK
IRQ 1 Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard OK
IRQ 3 Communications Port (COM2) OK
IRQ 4 Communications Port (COM1) OK
IRQ 5 VIA Rev 5 or later USB Universal Host Controller OK
IRQ 5 VIA Rev 5 or later USB Universal Host Controller OK
IRQ 6 Standard floppy disk controller OK
IRQ 8 System CMOS/real time clock OK
IRQ 9 Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System OK
    IRQ 10 NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400 OK
IRQ 11 SMC EZ Card 10/100 PCI (SMC1211TX) OK
IRQ 12 VIA AC'97 Audio Controller (WDM) OK
IRQ 13 Numeric data processor OK
IRQ 14 Primary IDE Channel OK
IRQ 15 Secondary IDE Channel OK

    Looks a little healthier hey:sun:

So I can now burn:flames: burn and burn to my hearts content.
The whole system now smooth as a baby's bum. The on board sound it not the best I've heard but will do for the occasional game and music editing.
    Once again. Ta all.

As you can tell, am a bit happy and thirsty after getting around this problem LOL

At the precise moment when I broke 10 seconds running to the garage to launch said assault, the furthest thing on my mind was to record the event [pity]

The Soundtrack, however, would have been banned:shoot3:

Ao well back into it :sun:

            Glad to hear it!
            Those SB's are highly overrated.
Their marketing skills are far superior to the products they produce. Maybe they should give up and become an advertising agency:D

No - Microsoft would leave them for dead in that field

That's a shame - to be practically a household name and outclassed at everything:D
                Poor poor SB.

                  Hi.
                  Nice to hear.
Please could you tell me how did you got your IRQ settings?
I have problems with it for long time and everyone say that it is quite difficult to change by WinXP.

                  Thank you
                  Yul

XP needs to be setup from the install as a standard PC for you to be able to set IRQ's though. :smokin:

Thanks for advise, but I am not sure if I dare to do this.
                      I will think it over.
