  • A7V-133 Hangs

I have an Athlon 1.33 on a A7V133 with no mods or tweaks, have latest 4in1's and Award Bios rev 1004. Win 98SE
Basically it is trouble free EXCEPT, twice in a month it has hung
buring bootup and gone into the BIOS in "safe mode" as it
found a 'CPU clock error' (possible misquote as it flashed by my
eyes) and I have found the bus set to 100 (= 1khz) instead of 133).
What gives? Is this a sign from the Thunder God? Should I start to
ferret away my spare pennies for new hardware or is there
    a simple explanation?.
    Thanks in advance.

Well i have the same system...so my guess is...reinstall Windows...flash bios to the latest...make sure the CPU is in all the way...also the cooler too...make sure u have some thermal paste on the CPU...if it doesnt help...see if u can test your CPU in another Motherboard for free at any PC shop...if it works...then its a bad Motherboard...or in the bios...make sure the motherboard is set at NORMAL...NOT OPTIMAL in the option with the FSB and MULTIPLYER section...tell me any results...good luck
