After the few months delay of my green OEM 2100 cpu dying, and waitig for the replacement which never arrived. Finally it did arrive, and on friday i installed a brown 2100 XP CPU. However i didnt choose to play the cooley smiley chappy yet, my 3d Mark score is apalling in XP, i expected it to go up, not down. 2001 edition mark is throwing up at me a score of 9286. i got the latest 44.71A form asus. i still have XP default Direct 3d runtime 8.1 v.
Istalled the very latest 2000/XP nforce 2 drivers with gart for it, and i have the gart an miniport for my graphics card.
i ran the test with in 1024x768, 32 bit colour
no antialiasing
double frame buffer
compressed texture format
24 bit z-buffer
d3d pure hardware transform and lighting
i think in options the detail level was high
i was already running in 32 bit desktop hardware settings.
can anyone point out any new tips for me in XP. took me two days to learn XP. but are there any tools out there that i need to get hold of please?
