I downloaded the Wireless Tools 26 from wireless tools (http://www.hpl.hp.com/personal/Jean_Tourrilhes/Linux/Tools.html#docu) . Anyway its a .tar.gz and i decompressed that, but now I have a bunch of .h and .c files along with some other stuff and the readme says to try a make install, how would i do that? Man this Linux is confusing :?: real interesting though, btw im on Mandrake 9.1

you got yourself a tarball. now you need to compile it.
Maybe you should read some of the links that were posted in the other thread.

Yeah, read some documentation about it, but the simple order of commands that usually works for the majority of programs:

all done from within the root directory of the program
eg:
[code:1:e73e78de9a]
tar zxvf filename.tgz
cd filename
./configure
make
make install
[/code:1:e73e78de9a]

Hope thats of some help to you.
