hey guys this is my first post on this forum, sorry if im a complete n00b. i have a 1.6 p4 423pin williamette cpu (bah i no its a piece of boiling hot turd) with 512 mb pc133 and a 40 gb hdd. i have no clue what mobo i have, although i seem to remember it being an intel 8*5. i added a gf3 ti 200 64mb and thats clocking quite nicely @ 210/450. i get about 5000 3dmarks. i was wondering if there was anyway to overclock my processor, maybe by a bios flash. i tried softfsb but it didnt work :(

any help would be appreciated.

thanks in advance.

What kind of machine do you have? Dell, gateway,compaq...etc Most likely you do as overclocking them is impossible

I dont know much about P4 mobos, so im gonna leave that to someone else. As for the CPU and RAM, get a 2.4"B" (A=400FSB, B=533FSB, C+800FSB) and at least 512mb of PC3200 RAM, ideally PC3500.

Don't get a freakin B CPU, the Cs are almost the same price and kick their asses...B is already outdated. Also, those boards don't support dual channel DDR or 8xAGP etc...

You may have an 815 chipset, but not necessarily an Intel made MB.
