  • Help me overclock my PC!!

    Hello,

I am putting together my new PC and want to OC it. Please let me know what I should expect from this set-up and the proper way to achieve maximum OCing. I dont have a lot of experience with this board so pass along your knowledge! :D

    Asus P4PE
    Intel 2.4b
    KINGSTON HyperX 512MB DDR333 (PC2700)
    Thermaltake VOLCANO 7+.
    WD 80gig 8MB Cache
    WD 40gig 8MB Cache
    Sony Burner/DVD Combo

    Thanks all!

well, for intel, u can try to jack up the FSB a bit at a time. Since u hvae pc2700, u will have a limited amount of FSB to boost up

try to jack up the FSB 2mhz at a time, then, when it frezzes at POST, restart the Cmos, and lower the fsb by 1 until is stable. If u want to overclock more, u can rise the vcore of the CPU. But dont rise it too much, or u will burn ur CPU.

With a stock 133FSB CPU, running 166mhz RAM (PC2700) isn't that bad actually. You already have some headroom, put your ratio at 1:1 and put your CPU up to 166 for a start. Lock AGP/PCI to 66/33.

This will get you 2988mhz and it shouldn't require any more voltage, mine does that on 1.55v.

What kind of cooling do you have?
