powermanagement via problem on alcatel usb modem

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone can help

i have an epox 8kta3+pro motherboard with a via kt133a agp set on board, my modem which is an alcatel usb keeps turning itself off after about 5 secs of being connected to the web, due to the power management of the via.

there is a download that will fix this, (apparently) however where this can be found beats me, (epox are no help and either are alcatel) if anyone knows where I can get this, or how i can fix the problem can you please please help me out.

Look on the manufacturer's web site for drivers as well as firmware upgrades. Also is it dropping sync, or is it losing power. Also give the model number.

Have you tried disabling APM in the bios?
