  • ti4200 any good

Hey just after some general opinions on this card. I just got one. I'm happy enough with it, but am interested were it stands in the gaming community.

It comes with all these utils to overclock etc - but i haven't been that adventurous yet.

The ti4200 are great for people with budgets, it is a great performer for directx8 and is better than the fx5200 for directx9.
If you want directx8 support go for ti4200, if you want directx9 go for a radeon 9600pro or xt, fx5700 ultra. That is if your on a budget.

edit: try coolbits for overclocking, if you overclock your card, and if your lucky/ also have right cooling fan on your card, you will beable to overclock to ti4600 levels.

So, does that mean that the Ti 4600 is a ripoff, then? It's a very good card, albeit it does cost a bit more.

The ti's are basically the same, they are all just higher clock, and some come with agp 8x which barely give much of a boost, so the ti4200 is just as good with overclocking that is.

Ti4200 128mb can be had under $100, it is the #1 bang for the buck card you can get.

The 4600 is an exception, it will clock quite a bit higher.

Yes you can safely overclock it as long as you have the proper cooling and you dont do any crazy mods to it.
