Ok I recently changed a few things that I read in the bios tweaking guide which worked well on my mothers computer (this one which is nowhere near good as mine) I changed the cas latency time from 2 to 1.5 and now when i turn on my computer it just makes a long beep that repeats and the computer wont come on and I cant access the bios or anything. It's an intel celeron 2.5 ghz I believe. The bios was award I THINK, but i'm not completly sure. I need to know what to do fast PLEASE. I just got this computer.

The 1.5CAS setting has likely done you in. Don't go anything lower than a 2.0 and that is with good RAM.

To fix your current problem, you'll just need to dig up the motherboard manual and see what it takes to reset the CMOS settings. It should be a simple jumper that needs to be switched for a few minutes and then it will set all BIOS values to factory default.

you need to reset the bios to its defaults. This can be done in one of two ways.

1.) there may be a jumper on your mobo specificly designed to reset the BIOS. Find this jumper (consult mobo manual for location) and remove (or move) it for 5 - 10 minutes.

2.) remove the mobo battery for 5 - 10 minutes. It's a silver disk about the size of a US quarter. This can be done whether you have a jumper or not

In either case, unplug the PSU from the wall during this 5 -10 minutes. After this time period replace the battery/jumper and plug the PSU back in.

Now go back into your bios and try not to make the same mistakes again ;)

*looks like Darth beat me too it :)

Some RAM can run at CL 1.5, my ValueRam 2700 can just fine.

But yours may not be able to without increasing the volts, or its just not capable at all.

In that case its not able to operate at all and will throw beeps like that...
