VIA KLE133 + PCI Video

Hey Guys,

I have a friend at college who has just bought an AOpen MK73LE-V motherboard, based on the KLE133 chipset. Problem is, when he starts up the machine (after enabling the PCI card to boot first in the BIOS), the POST test runs OK but then hangs on the next screen. Nothing is displayed but gibberish.

So his question is, can the VIA KLE133 support an additional PCI card, and can the onboard video be disabled? Any help would be good :p

Shame that didn't say what the PCI card was but at this link http://www.aopen.com.tw/tech/report/.../mb/vga-oc.htm is a compatability list that maybe of help as there is quite a selection.
I couldn't find anything that would disable the onboard video though.
If all else fails, and the card is supported and ya've tried another PCI slot, then try their forums http://club.aopen.com.tw/forum/ and see what happens. :smokin:
