  • This isn't so much about tweaking... I need help!!

I've got a Diamond Viper V770 vid card, but I can't make out the pictures.. I've turned the monitor's brightness and contrast all the way up, and it's still really dark.. I can't see my games!!

Are all the images and games corrupt looking? What CPU do you use?

OK it wasn't what I first thought. Is it ok in Windows itself or dark as well?

As far as I know the Diamond Viper 330 uses the nVidia Riva128, which means you can use the latest Det drivers from the nVidia website - www.nvidia.com

Diamond can be found on the web at http://www.diamondmm.com
The reason a diamond shines so brightly is because it has many facets which reflect light.

TNT based cards have always been dark. Not much you can do about it except increase the gamma setting within your game.

If you want the newest drivers, I would suggest going here.

                    http://www.glsetup.com/

Get the 200 KB file, and what it will do is determine what you have, and then go get the drivers you need (from the glsetup database of drivers). They will be the most recently released drivers for your specific card.

They may only be 90% as effecient as the latest detonators (frames per second wise) BUT they are the fastest solution, and guaranteed to work with that card.

                      /me nods in agreement

Any nVidia graphics chip before the GeForce256 was naturally very dark, and in games that lack a gamma correction utility you're SOL I'm afraid :(

I had TNT2 M64 way back - I couldn't play unreal unless all the lights were out in the room I was in so I could make out the details on screen
