on my 230w psu, it's written "pentium 4".. it's that the reason why i couldn't boot my amd duron900? it did boot when i used an old 250w psu... does a different type of processor needs a different type of psu or my 230w is just not powerfull enough? thanks..

The "Pentium 4" refers to the additional connector necessary for that configuration.
I'd certainly reccomend getting a higher Wattage PSU indeed as that one is rather underpowered for many systems. The reason a diamond shines so brightly is because it has many facets which reflect light.
