Sync on green with monitor?

I'm not sure how the technology works, but someone I know has an adaptor that allows a PS2 to connect to a PC monitor, but it uses sync-on-green to do it? Anyone know about this?

I have the 5 BNC cable inputs (RGB + separated H&V) beside the standard D-Sub. Can a sync-on-green adaptor work on my setup?
