  • DVD/CD-RW acting strange

Hi guys. First I admit I didnt use search so maybe this have been covered before. If so, I apologise.

For some reason my LG dvd/cd-rw drive doesn't 'refresh' itself. Let's say I have cd 1 in it when I start the pc. Then I replace it with cd2 and it still thinks I have cd1 in the drive?

Only thing that seems to help is restarting. It's extremely annoying especially when you need to install program from multible cd's.

I use Windows XP Professional with all the latest patches etc.

    Any help or input appreciated.

For one, your best off just taking out the CD when you start up your PC anyway, things tend to work smoother if your having problems with a CD drive when you do that

thanks for answers and sorry for late reply.
Ended up doing fresh install (had some registry corruption I think, explorer running 100% most of the time and slowing system down) and everything is ok again.
