What do people think of the sticky thread things?

To me, they're just really god damn annoying.

They serve a very good purpose when used properly.

I think Anandtech for instance has done real well with them, particularly during the September 11 crisis.

Not guilty :o.

Looks like I'm outvoted on this one then, so I suppose I'll have to learn to live with them :).

Seriously, I didn't un-stick it.

Maybe they un-stick after a certain time / lack of posts?

Bad Idea. They will be used ineffectively. If only used for Informative things they will be OK

No ya certainly ain't as they break the continuity of the forum and should only be used for important notices but killed when they have served their purpose.

Exactly, Wiggo!

So maybe we should just hope that everyone uses them wisely :D.

I was the one who unstuck that particular post. It had gone for some time without any further comments, so in my humble opinion it had served it's purpose. I'll continue to monitor them when I have time, but if they are not vital, and/or have not had a response in some time, they will be unstuck.
