  • Dual Channel DDR Problem...

I have bought two sticks of DDR PC3200 RAM. Both sticks are 512MB, and both are from the same company. My motherboard says that it has Dual Channel DDR technology, now does this mean I have to get special RAM for it to work properly. Or is there some way that I can install both sticks so that it runs fine? Thanks for the help..

    Re: Dual Channel DDR Problem...

Dual channel kits are all the rage because they use paired modules; in other words, memory modules that are the same. As long as your modules are the same (same brand, speed, timings, etc) then you should be just fine. Just make sure you check out the mainboard manual as some boards want you to use particular memory slots on the board to enact the dual channel (my old Soltek board wanted you to use slots 1 and 3).
