What's the advantage of getting a DVD in fullscreen format as opposed to a widescreen format? Don't you lose out by getting the field of view chopped out. With widescreen you can still choose to do fullscreen viewing.

its really a matter of preference. Alot of people feel that if the movie doesn't full up their entire screen then they didn't get their money's worth. Also these same people will never buy a widescreen or HDTV anyway so its a moot point..
I myself hat one thing about the new HD and widescreen sets, most pole who have them have the picture stretched to fill the screen when watching regular TV and to me it look awful everyone looks fat.. ;)
